February Blog Review

In my last blog review of January, I said that, “I hope that I’ll have an even better report for everyone to read in February,” and that’s exactly what I’ve got. This blog has had a great month, but I’m ambitious, and want and even better review at the end of March.

Visitors

In February, this blog received 1,170 unique visitors, and 932 absolute unique visitors.

The highest percentage of traffic (69.57%) came from other sites. The top three referring sites were powerdropping.com, entrecard.com and sitehoppin.com. The traffic from EntreCard and EntreCard related sites isn’t of the greatest quality, but any publicity is good publicity (I hope).
I also noticed an increase in traffic coming from search engines. This blog received another 20 visitors via Google. It’s nothing to shout about, but it’s a start, and a step in the right direction.

I’m very pleased with the growth in traffic for February. These stats may not be phenomenal, but they’re encouraging.

Content

I managed to keep up my posting frequency for this month, and introduce a series of motivational and inspirational quotes. As a result, I wrote a total of 14 posts in February.

For now, I’m happy with my posting frequency and see no need to change it. However, I may begin to choose days to publish specific types of posts on. For example, I might start to write a personal update post, and publish that every Friday.

This blog got 1,534 pageviews in February. This may at first sound good, but the bounce rate is pretty bad at 87.44%, probably due the the large amount of traffic coming from EntreCard.

The most popular content (other than my index page) was, My January Blog Review, Blog Security – Give your blog some extra protection. and Content Generators. Although the click through rate (CTR) to these pages wasn’t high, at least people are staying to have a look at my site.

Again people are commenting on my site, and that’s nice to see.

Miscellaneous

In my January blog review, I said that I wanted to improve the number of backlinks that this site had and that’s what I’ve managed to do. iwebtool.com’s backlink checker tells me that I’ve now got 165 backlinks.

My website grade for this month was 76/100, a nice increase from 56/100.

Furthermore, both my Technorati and Alexa ranks decreased (yes, a decrease is good) from 1,644,723 to 1,072,771 and from 1,909,600 to 981,904, respectively.

This blog really has gone from strength to strength in February with a lot of stuff increasing (and decreasing) for the better. February has been a good month, but I hope that March is going to be even better. I’m really starting to enjoy blogging, and I hope to grow this blog into something big.
