Motivational and Inspirational Quotes – Week 1

Posted on February 4th, 2008.

Every so often, you reach a low point. Nothing seems to be going your way and you seem to be having no success online. It can be very fustrating and sometimes, despressing. That’s why I’ve decided to start this series - quotes to help motivate and insipre.

These are quotes which I, personally, find good and I hope that they can also help you.

I’ll post two quotes each week. However, there’s no point in just posting a quote or two, I’m going to highlight how they’re significant and what they mean.

The first quote in this series is one of the most poignant:

  1. “Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration.” Thomas A. Edison (1847 - 1931), Harper’s Monthly, 1932Edison was one of the most amazing inventors in history, and helped to shape our modern world. There are over 1000 patents to his name. However, not all of those inventions were a success but evidently, that didn’t stop Edison. He kept inventing and inventing. He kept working. The purpose of this quote is clear, you can’t rely on inspiration, you have to work hard aswell.
  2. “You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.”
  3. Henry Ford

This is another fantastic quote from one of the most successful business men in American history. Ford revolutionsed the manfacturing industry and made a lot of money in the process. You have to take risks and do something, you can’t sit back and expect to be successful. You have to chase success.

That’s two quotes for this week. Throughout the week, when you’re feeling down and in need of a little mental “kick”, read through these two quotes. You may find they’re all you need to get you started again.
