Object oriented programming in PHP, and a new site
As ever, I’ve been doing a little bit of work here, and there over the last few days. However if I really want to make some money, I need to get myself into gear, because I’m definitely not working hard enough.
I’ve worked my way through the first portion of PHP Objects, Patterns, and Practice, Second Edition, and have learned a lot of new stuff already. So far, the book has been fantastic.
A new website
I finally secured a domain name I was purchasing on a forum, and have started to develop a site around it. The domain contains the keyword which I’m aiming to rank for, so with some good content it should do well in Google. It was registered in 2007, and has age on its side as a result.
The site’s based on Wordpress. I’ve often used Wordpress as a CMS for many of my niche websites, but this time I’m actually going use it as a blogging tool. I think this niche has got good growth potential, so I want my site to remain fresh, and competitive.
I’ve setup Wordpress, and am testing out a theme. It’s called Options, and it’s a very good theme. However, I don’t think it’s suited to my kind of site, so I’m still on the hunt for a good theme. Leave a comment if you know of any good ones.
My next job is to start building up some content, and then I’ll do a little promotion. I’ll keep you updated.
